I saw on shoemoney.com that you can add your webmaster tools on your igoogle homepage which is cool. You can also sign up for google ad manager which is cool. I signed up but I have to play around with it and see how it works.
Work has been going great no catastrophic happenings like last week. I have been just doing tickets. I am going to the NY state fair probably this Saturday with the family. Tonight when I go to the B2 I have to see when everyone else wants to go.

A Guy Jumped at Carousel Mall
I was reading a news article at Syracuse.com tallking about how the parents are blaming Carousel Mall because they didn’t put up nets in the atrium. I agree with putting up nets. If you want to read the article then Click Here. The guy put people at risk from jumping over the edge. A security guard tried to talk the guy from jumping but he jumped anyways. This guy was going to find a way to kill himself. He just found a easy way out. People said that the security guards didn’t try to help him after he jumped. He was already dead from jumping 100 ft. The guy has been depressed why didn’t the family get him some help. I am sorry this guy died but don’t blame Carousel because your son wanted to die.

USA wins Gold for men’s basketball
It is about god damn time USA men’s basketball team win gold. This is our sport to win Gold. It was a close game with a score of 118 -107. Spain won the silver and Argentina the bronze. I am glade that we won gold. It is a big boost and hopefully we will be power houses in the next olympics to come.

Colleges want to lower the drinking age
There was a new article saying that colleges have signed a petition to lower the drinking age, so they can combat the underage kids from using fake ids, stop them from binge drinking. They want to lower the drinking age to 18. I think it is a good idea because if you can vote, go into the military, and marry then you should be able to buy alcohol. At 18 if they want to drink they are going to find way to get the alchol. There are field parties across the United States where underage drinking is going on. The 18 year olds might get alcohol for the younger teens but they are also going to find way to get it. What does everyone else think?

On Call Day 4 - Major server crashed that is DOA
On thursday we had one of the major servers crashed that crashed before pretty good but they didn’t do a migration of the data to the new cluster. They ended up moving that data and then giving the new cluster the aliase of the old server so that the applications will still work. It was an interesting Thursday, and really it has been an interesting week.

Pictures of the damage computer equipment from the flood
Here are some pictures of the computer equipment. We had a storage room that got flooded pretty good that had monitors, keyboards, cables, and their was a very important device that thank god nothing happened to it. Some this equipment also came from employee offices that got hit hard. It is amazing how fast the water can erode and rust the parts of a computer.

On Call Day 3 - Water main break at Crouse Hospital
I went to Commonwealth for two tickets. One ticket was to move a computer from one location to the other, and the other ticket was that a user was just getting a blue screen while loading the computer. The second ticket was doing so good so I ended bring the computer back to the shop, and putting in a loaner for the user to use when I am working on her computer.
When I was at Commonwealth at the hospital they had water main break that broke under one of the floors in the basement and flooded the basement. There was bunch of computers that got water damage, also one of storage rooms got hit pretty good. Here is a picture of the whole in the floor. I ended up staying late on Wednesday so I could help clean. There were racks full medical supplies that had to be move. The floors had good amount of wet muddy dirt on it. Here is a picture of the water main break at Crouse Hospital.
This morning at 1:40 AM I got called in to put in a loaner fax and printer because one of the floors had broke their canon copier. I got done around 3:00 AM. I didn’t get that much sleep for Thursday.

On Call Day 2
I wasn’t called in or anything like that. I have been just working on tickets. They did find that the server that I was called in had bad memory in it. They took the memory out and the server has been stable. That was it for tuesday.

On Call Day 1
I don’t have to do PC refresh this week. I ended getting a call yesterday around 8:45 PM that a server was malfunctioning and word reboot in a continues loop. I ended up calling my supervisor. It might be good or might be bad. I was going to ask him if he has a number to IBM support. He asked what server it was. I told him and he said I should call the project manager of the project, and that these servers are not in production and they are just in testing phase for one department. I called the project manager he said it was OK to shutdown the server and wait for tomorrow to look at it.
I don’t know if I should have went in to work last night or not. I think I shot the gun and went over there to fast. I heard server is down. I thought it might have been a critical server. I need to ask questions first and then act on the information that I get. I acted on the server is down. It is a new server also and it has been in place for 6 months. Thats saying a lot about the server.
